The Challenge

Celcom needed a centralised digital content retail platform (channelx.com.my) for prepaid and postpaid subscribers to discover and purchase mobile content — ringtones, wallpapers, games — plus two supplementary digital products: Call Me Tones and Funtalk Dedication.

Our Solution

ME-Tech was part of the delivery team for ChannelX on a JBoss, Hibernate, Spring, MySQL, AJAX stack, launched in January 2006 with ongoing enhancements. The team also delivered the Call Me Tones website for ringback tone subscriptions and the Funtalk Dedication platform for personalised voice dedications.

Results

ChannelX centralised Celcom's digital content retail under one platform for millions of subscribers. The 12-month project transitioned into ongoing maintenance, reflecting the platform's business-critical role for Celcom.
